Globally, 71% of women are enslaved in human trafficking; and with the wars in Africa, Asia, Europe, and MENA region, poverty in large pockets of Asia and MENA, girls are bought and sold with impunity. It is therefore imperative that we address the underpinnings of enslavement, define our roles in combating trafficking, and proposing actionable solutions to the current pandemic of global criminal activities.
